Executive Members


 

President

Erial Cooper

Erial Cooper is a senior Middle Level Education major from Florence, South Carolina. Soror Cooper currently serves as President of the Savvy, a Secretary for the Collegiate Middle Level Education Organization and a member of the African American Association of Students. She is a 2023 Hall of Fame Recipient. Soror Cooper has been on the Dean’s List for multiple semesters.

Soror Cooper regularly volunteers with Harvest Hope. Upon graduation, she intends to pursue a career in Teaching as a 7th Grade English Teacher and completing Graduate school to collect her master’s degree. She ultimately wants to become a principal.


 

Vice President

Zoe McDonald

Zoe McDonald is a junior Psychology major with a Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior minor and concentration in Medicine from Sumter, South Carolina. Soror McDonald currently serves as the Vice President for the Black Medical Student Association, a mentor for the Opportunity Scholars Program, a member of the Research Assistant Connect Play Lab and apart of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Health Fraternity. She is an two-time recipient of the Carolina Engage Grant Award and a recipient of Dominion Energy Educational Equity National Scholarship and has been on the Dean’s List and President’s List for multiple semesters. Soror McDonald plans to pursue Graduation of Leadership Distinction in Community Service.

Soror McDonald regularly volunteers with The Free Medical Clinic, Camp Cole/Camp Rise Above and Harvest Hope. Upon graduation, she intends to attend Physician Assistant school with hopes of specializing in Pediatrics.

Monique Rice

Monique Rice is a junior Criminology and Criminal Justice major with a minor in Social Work from Columbia, South Carolina. Soror Rice currently serves on the Carolina Judicial Council, an Honors College student, the Membership and Recruitment Chair of the Black Honors Caucus. a member of Alpha Phi Omega, a Coach for CarolinaLIFE, a U101 peer leader. She has additionally served on the U101 Peer Leader Advisory Council. Soror Rice plans to pursue Graduation with Leadership Distinction in Professional & Civic Engagement, and has been on the dean’s list for multiple semesters.

Soror Rice regularly serves with the Senior Resources Meals on Wheels. Upon graduation, she plans on attending law school and pursue a dual degree program that offers a joint Juris Doctorate and Masters of Social Work degree.

Maya Taylor

Maya Taylor is a junior Exercise Science major with a minor in Business from Columbia, South Carolina. Soror Taylor currently serves as the Chartering member and President of The National Council of Negro Women, NAACP’s Event Chair, and The Diversity and Inclusion Chair for the Women in Healthcare program. As well as a mentee in the Doctor of Physical Therapy mentorship program, and an active member of the Exercise Science club. Soror Taylor has been on the Dean’s List and President’s List for multiple semesters.

Soror Taylor regularly volunteers at the Auntie Karen Foundation. Upon graduation, her plans include attending graduate school and obtaining her degree in Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Jalyn Owens

Jalyn Owens is a sophomore Public Relations major with a minor in Political Science from Greenville, South Carolina. Soror Owens is player on the USC Women’s club golf team, a member of the Multicultural Outreach Student Team, Government Relations State lobbying Agency, and Black and Abroad Gamecocks. She been on the Dean’s List for multiple semesters.

Soror Owens regularly volunteers with Harvest Hope Food Bank and Ladder of Opportunity. Upon graduation, she intends to pursue a career in Public Relations as a Public Relations manager for politicians or working for a PR firm that primary focuses on corporations.


 

Recording Secretary

Kaylin Hammonds

Kaylin Hammonds is a senior Marketing major with a minor in Public Relations and Advertising, from Aiken South Carolina. Soror Hammonds is a Service Site Leader for the Leadership and Service Center, a Mentor for the Multicultural Assistance Peer Program (MAPP), a member of the Black Business Student Association and Multicultural Outreach Student Team, currently serves as the Captain of Recruitment for University Ambassadors, and is a past New Student Orientation Leader. She has made the Dean’s List for multiple semesters.

Soror Hammonds regularly volunteers with Oliver Gospel’s Men Center and the Educational Talent Search Program Midlands Technical College. Upon graduation, she intends to pursue a career in the entertainment or hospitality industry working with branding and marketing communications.
